Text and HTML Editors
This detailed Wikipedia article describes many of the options for choosing a text editor:
The following two external editors are used to create and edit pages on the GooglePage eXplorer website.
PSPad
PSPad
is a universal freeware editor with many powerful options: context-sensitive highlighting for HTML, CSS, and many other languages; spellcheck; HTML preview; global search/replace; integration with many third-party utilities and extensions. PSPad also has a convenient tabbed interface and allows to organize multiple files into "projects"—both critical features for editing multiple pages simultaneously.
TSW WebCoder
This powerful HTML editor is no longer free, the current version is available from the Tangaard SoftWare
website. The last free version (TSW Webcoder 5) is used to create and edit the source HTML code for this website. TSW Webcoder offers several very useful features for designing websites: built-in file and project management tools, validators, spellcheck, preview in IE and Firefox/Mozilla, page templates, references for HTML and CSS functions, etc. The preview functions are particularly well-implemented and allow several options for quickly adjusting page layouts.
